Frequently Asked Questions

I am unable to attend on the first night. Can I still join?

Yes. We normally have people joining the first two or three weeks of a class.

Do I need a partner?

No. We cater for both couples & singles.

Do I need to pre-enrol?

No. You can enrol on your first night.

If we come as a couple, do we have to change partners?

If you come as a couple, you learn as a couple. We do not make you change partners.

What happens if I miss a class?

Each class has a proportion of revision which helps you to “catch up”. Additionally, all our beginner classes are inter-changeable, so if you are unable to attend your own class, you are welcome to attend one of the others. If you miss several classes for any reason, you might consider a private lesson, which would bring you up to class level.

How long is a weekly lesson? How many weeks do they go on?

Each class is 1 hour, and runs from August to June, other than Christmas, New Year, etc.

What should I wear?

For adults we suggest smart casual and for younger dancers, whatever is comfortable.

Do I pay weekly or with a lump sum?

Weekly. There are no lump sums, so you don’t pay for any classes you miss.

Can I attend more than one class?

Of course. The more tuition you receive, the quicker you learn.

Do you have Advanced Classes?

Yes. If you provide details of previous tuition, we can suggest a suitable class. You can give us a call on 0141 942 7670 or email at Warrensschoolofdancing@gmail.com for more information.

At what age do you start children?

School age, ie any age from about 5 upwards.

Do you cater for a wedding first dance?

Yes. We specialise in this, whether you wish a traditional first waltz, a dance for your own choice of music, or a full scale production.

Do you provide one on one private lessons?

Yes. These are arranged by appointment.

Can you organise private classes for a group of friends?

Yes. These are arranged by appointment.

Can I enter Medal Tests?

The classes are for learning to dance. At suitable intervals students are offered the chance to enter medal tests. This is an optional extra and doesn’t make any difference to the tuition in the class.
